In this article I gathered together 11 most popular and most efficient ways to make money on the internet and a list of sites that might be useful for beginners. The list is divided into direct and indirect methods, and examples and links are provided for each point. If you know a method that is not listed below, just let me know.
1. Affiliate marketing.The point of affiliate marketing is to promote other’s goods and services. Affiliate partner earn commissions from each purchase or fixed sum for attracting new partner or user (cost per action or CPA).
Basic model is very simple: one buys a puppy and wants to train him. He opens Google, MSN etc. and types “train the dog” or “dog agility”. Then from all links he chooses your site and looks it though. If information is useful, then he clicks the affiliate link in the menu or in the article body and gets transfered to partner’s site who offers such service/product. 2. RSS.This way of earning online is quiet similar to Affiliate marketing. I would even say it’s a part of it. Still there are some special features, that’s why I’ve decided to discuss it separately.
RSS is usually used to promote information materials and CPA-materials. It can also be used to sell exclusive goods (narrow business niche), but efficiency is comparatively low.
The difference between RSS and Affiliate marketing is that your site’s visitor gets transferred not a partner’s site, but to a page with subscribe form – squeeze page. He subscribes for a free course, book, plugin etc. and gets into your RSS list and after that gets the promised bonus. All letters in RSS are written to motivate this user to buy/order something.
Among all information marketing methods RSS is the most profitable one.
3. Pay-per-click.
Pay-per-click is also one of affiliate marketing parts. The main difference in that in PPС system sellers buy text ads instead of attracting traffic for free from partner sites and blogs.
With text ads you are able not only to attract visitors to your site, but also to sell affiliate goods (and get your commission) as well as improve your RSS client base. You simply have to direct traffic from text ads to a partner’s site or squeeze page.
4. Blog.
For an experience user blogging can become a perfect way to earn a living.The difference between blog and site specially created for affiliate marketing is that blog’s popularity depends more on owner’s personality then on google page rank and it’s position in search engines. Blogger’s authority and charisma are the main factors that effect blog’s profit-making capacity. That’s blog’s main advantage over an impersonalized affiliate site.

5. Blog + Affiliate shop.
If you have a themed blog (about Apple products, silver jewelries or even sleeping pills) there is a certain sense in adding an affiliate shop. In this case blog comes as an addition to the shop. Of course it doesn’t mean that you have to convert it into impersonal news site, but too personal entries are also not encouraged. Blog should look more as a show-window.
Model of earning is same as with usual blog + income from affiliate sales. By the way shop will have traffic not only from blog, but also from search engines.
6. Splog + Affiliate shop.
Spam blogs usually do not have a unique content so basic means of monetization do not work in this case. If you decided to create a splog, then stress your attention on text ads, affiliate programs and CPA. If your splog earns authority and you feel like improving it – it’s always possible to convert it in blog.
A model of earning on „Splog + affiliate shop” is similar to affiliate marketing: you surround the shop with a system of splogs which are cross-linked between themselves and with the shop. Thus affiliate shop gets not only traffic, but also good page rank.
7. Ebay.
You’ve definitely heard about Ebay Auction Service and the possibility to earn good money there, regardless your country of residence.
If you find it hard to sell physical goods (delivery terms etc.) then you can always earn on information goods. There are a lot of sites where one can get PRL (private label rights) and MRR (master resell rights) goods. After a little improvement and rebranding you can sell them online as your own. For this type of goods you can use a special Ebay category: Everything Else.
8. Selling links.
Although Google tries hard to stop this business it’s still booming.The scheme is quiet simple: you create a site/blog, fill it with content, get good page rank (there are many ways like text ads, paid links and reviews etc.) and offer links for sale in systems like Text Link Ads review, LinkWorth review and others.
9. Selling sites
Selling sites is an incredibly profitable business, but to start it you’ll need some significant investments (both time and money). The point is to buy a site cheap, make necessary redesign and improvements and sell it for a higher price. Traffic arbitrage is a special term for traffic sale. There were times when even Google supported arbitrage. Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter.It’s no use to write about this process in details as it’s really simple: buy cheap, sell expensive. Unfortunately this online business is not for beginners as it demands experience and certain knowledge.

That’s the most flexible online business strategy. As you have already noticed each earning strategy consists of several blocks which can be easily used as separate elements or in combination.
